World Theatre Day is celebrated on March 27 every year. This event is organised by the International Theatre Institute to promote the joy of watching a live performance and its importance as an art form. Their other goal is to raise awareness about its value to governments and institutions so that policies, funding, and special plans are implemented. There is no yearly theme as the core theme is permanent: Theatre and a Culture of Peace.
